What does it take to be a great entrepreneur?

It takes a lot of hard work, tenacity, and skill. You may disagree, but I am here to tell you that skill is one of the most important traits to possess to become a great entrepreneur. Skill is the ability to use one's knowledge effectively and readily in execution or performance and/or learned power of doing a thing competently.

To be a great entrepreneur, you must master the Art of Entrepreneurship.

It may be simple, but it's not that easy. It is very easy to confuse doing a craft well with being a great entrepreneur. You can have great technical skills as a barber, hairdresser, day care provider or architect and still NOT be a successful entrepreneur.

Being a great technician affords you the opportunity to be a great employee. Being a great entrepreneur affords you the opportunity to create the vision and life you have always desired.

Here are a few examples of a great entrepreneurs:

• Oprah Winfrey - she transitioned from being a talk show host to creating one of the biggest media empires. She now has her OWN network.
• Jay-Z - he started out as a rapper to become one of the richest entertainers through his vast business holdings in restaurants, basketball teams, and a host of other businesses. It is projected that he will reach the billionaire status in the next five years.
• Tyler Perry - he started out writing and starring in his own plays on the "chitlin" circuit to become one of the most powerful directors in the movie industry. He now has his own studio where he writes, directs, and produces his own films.
